Living Together, Learning Together: A Child’s Right To Quality Inclusive Education

1st period: 2009-2012; funded by NORAD; Lead partner: Mission East: The project has been recognized by the Government of Armenia as the pilot stage of the Universal Inclusive Education System (UIES) to be tested in Tavush Marz. The project built the ground for the application of the Universal Inclusive Education System through the whole system of general schools in Armenia. Based on the results and outcomes of the project a package of amendments to mainstream education law was proposed. Important amendments suggested were: that Armenia declares inclusive education as the way to ensure equal access and participation to mainstream education for every child and establishment of 3 levels of pedagogical-psychological resource services at school, regional and republican levels, and closure of special schools. In 2014 the changes have been approved by the NA of Armenia.
