
Toward social inclusion of vulnerable children: Expanding alternative care, family support, and inclusive education services
The project, with the support of USAID and UNICEF, was realized between 2015-2017. The Universal Inclusive Education System was applied in two Marzes of Armenia – Syunik and Lori. All teaching staff of 265 mainstream schools of two Marzes were trained and capacitated in inclusive teaching and learning strategies, 6 special schools were transformed into Pedagogical-psychologic support services for inclusive schools, all children with disabilities from these special boarding schools returned back to their families, and moved smoothly to inclusive schools.
