Martiros Gulkanyan

“Since the age of 10, I have been a participant in the programs offered by the “Bridge of Hope” NGO. What initially felt like a distant dream for both me and my family has become a tangible reality through the unwavering support of this beloved organization”.

In 2014, the “The Right to Earn for Dignified Life” program was introduced by the “Bridge of Hope” NGO in Tavush Marz, aiming to enhance the socio-economic inclusion of young individuals with disabilities by creating employment opportunities. Martiros and his mother actively engaged in all the activities initiated by this three-year program. Through awareness campaigns, capacity-building workshops, vocational training, and business planning courses, Martiros not only formed new friendships and connections but also gained a realistic understanding of his abilities and identified opportunities for personal growth. Consequently, he embarked on establishing his own small family business.

Martiros and his mother developed a business plan centered around “Rabbit Breeding,” which was brought to life with the invaluable support of the ‘Bridge of Hope’ organization. Reflecting on their journey, Martiros’ mother, Mrs. Sona, shares, “It has been a year since we left behind all the concerns related to rabbit care, breeding, and unique characteristics. I consistently provide support and encouragement to my son for every milestone he achieves.”

Today, Martiros tends to his rabbits with profound love and enthusiasm. He has honed his skills in business management and now earns a sufficient income to lead an independent and dignified life. Martiros frequently interacts with members of “Bridge of Hope’s” professional orientation club, where he shares his experiences and accomplishments. Through these interactions, he inspires others to believe in their own potential, to embrace opportunities without being hindered by obstacles, and to pursue bold initiatives.

Martiros’ remarkable journey exemplifies the transformative impact of the “Bridge of Hope” NGO, empowering individuals like him to overcome challenges, pursue their passions, and thrive in an inclusive society.
